Love Bridge

This is my 100th post in this Tumblr blog! To commemorate this momentous moment, I shall be blogging on something memorable to me.

***

I was in Taipei last month and I visited their famous Love Bridge at Fisherman’s Wharf with nobody else except for my dearest love.

We boarded one of the last yachts at about 715PM at night. It was considered pretty late to go there as most people go there to catch the sunset.

I was definitely very excited to be there with him. I still remembered that I held his hand and said, “Let’s hold our hands together as we cross this bridge! We shall not release our hands from each other until we have reached the other end of the bridge!”

“Okay!” he replied with consensus.

Within minutes after we held our hands, we have soon forgotten about the pact that we had made a while ago. While he was trying to place his DSLR somewhere for a snapshot, I was also busy snapping away. We would walk together again but soon after, we would be distracted and start our individual photo taking again.

Finally, we got someone to take the photo of the both of us.

As we were almost done, we held our hands again to walk down the bridge.

I suddenly recalled that we had intended to hold our hands as we walked on the bridge.

Drats!

However, he told me, “It’s like in reality. At times, we’ll be holding each other’s hands. At times, we will be busy with our own work and we tend to forget to hold each other’s hands. But I will always be holding your hands at the beginning and at the end of the journey.

It was a very sweet and authentic thought. But I wish our “journey” will never cease to end. Transcendence? Maybe I will figure it out someday. Haha.

Sometimes we tend to forget. Sometimes we tend to do less. Sometimes we take it for granted that special someone will always be there. Maybe it’s time to hold their hands once again.
