Thoughts about love

There is no complaint for deep love.

I have been watching dramas on online streaming and I came across that line. It’s actually from a ancient Chinese quote. Perhaps people from the ancient generations tend to be more romantic and mushy than we could ever imagined.

I cannot help but think about my own current love relationship.

I always think that there’s no right or wrong. The problem comes when one think his views are superior to the other’s. Even though I can say that I am a very open-minded and tolerant person, who allows many perspectives, I don’t deny that I would insist that I’m right at times. Maybe I’m not right after all.

Indeed, it takes so much to bring two people together, yet it takes so little to separate them. People are just so different after all, even to our slightest bit

I suddenly thought of this. Maintaining a relationship is like cooking a pot of soup. When the fire is too great, the soup evaporates. When the fire is too small, the soup takes too long to be cooked. When we add too little salt, the soup becomes too bland. Sometimes when we add too much salt, the soup is ruined. It takes a whole truckload of patience and care. Whether it will turn out tasty would depend on whether we put in our hearts and souls to do so. Perhaps each of us has our own unique recipe to cook the best soup we could. There’s no correct way to cook a tasty soup.

Ironing out issues can be very mentally tiring and stressing and depressing. But I thought of it as a phase, that has to be experienced, before we have any unexpected realization. In short, we don’t argue about it (or talk about it, it sounds better), how would we know that the other party has been feeling unhappy all this while?
